Front porch furniture and furniture accessories have been on the rise in recent years, with retailers like Jordan’s and Home Depot also expanding into the residential market.
But the furniture giant has been on a quiet buying spree, with a number of acquisitions in the past year.
Now, front porch and bedroom furniture company Jordan’s will be moving its Washington headquarters to the National Mall.
The company plans to open a new shop in a newly constructed building on Capitol Hill, with plans to offer furniture, furnishings, accessories and accessories for sale to the public.
The move will add the retailer to a growing list of local businesses that have recently relocated their headquarters to Washington.
As of March 31, Jordan’s had acquired seven new companies to date, including a chain of convenience stores called Dixie Dippers.
“We are thrilled to announce the opening of the new Dixie Store at the National Capital Region, one of the most exciting destinations in the nation for home décor,” Jordan’s CEO Scott St. Louis said in a statement.
“This is the first time we have ventured into the new retail space and are looking forward to seeing all our customers come to Dixie.”
In December, the company announced plans to sell its furniture and accessories business to its wholly-owned subsidiary, The Furniture Institute.
