Ruger announced the next generation of its Elite line of handguns today.
The Elite 9mm is the first of three models to be announced in 2017.
The 9mm’s new pistol grip is wider than its predecessor and has a wider grip area, but the new pistol also has a new cheekpiece.
Both the trigger and magazine release are now a bit longer, making them a bit easier to access.
The gun also has an integrated thumb safety.
Ruger also offers a redesigned trigger pull lever and a new pistol slide design that it calls “tactile.”
Ruger says the new model will be available for purchase beginning in early September.
The new Elite 9 mm pistol, model numbers FNP-9, has an overall length of 15.5 inches and a width of 6.25 inches.
Rugers new Elite pistol has a standard 9mm capacity of 9 rounds, which can be reloaded with either the full-size or reduced-capacity 9mm magazine.
The grip is made from a new polyurethane material that provides a “stiff and supple feel” and a “smooth and even torsional feel.”
Rugers Elite pistol is a compact pistol that weighs just 9.9 ounces.
The pistol has an MSRP of $2,699.99.
Ruggers Elite 9 MM pistol is expected to be available in late September.
